Your roaming hands

I had a peaceful rest

until

you arrived

flaunting your current occupation

which is hopelessly

contrived.

The family jewels,

as you know,

are still safe with me

although your roaming hands

now

I can see

are reaching

closer

for my shriveled neck.

Slowly

in one's darkest fear

you make a check

for the ruby necklace

and both

diamond rings

so your thieving heart

just proudly

sings.

It's this moment of revenge

that I've waited

for.

I will break

your heart

forever more.

The flashlight

momentarily dims

so here's my chance

to break the neck

of the dove

who promised romance.

With the full moon above

and the cold clear

sky

you've have come

for the loot

not to say goodbye.

I open one eye

and suddenly grab

your wrist.

You belong to me.

Please don't

resist

and into my open coffin

you'll lay

with me

as the grave robber

and his mistress

for eternity.
